Hi

Apparently Clifton Skatepark should be open around the 25th July and the BMX track about 4 weeks after that. You wouldn't be able skate the park beforehand and the Builders will leave out the bottoms on the bowls and sections on the street course.

It's looking good though !!

This looks like a great idea ! Different times for BMX, skaters and blades would be a good idea so that it docent get over crowded ! And a maximum persons in at once rule. Quarter pipes at one end flat bank at one end and boxers and stuff in between would be a good set up? Also a roll in one corner leading to a distinct line to take which uses a lot of the ramps could be something to consider, this would probably create more order within the skate park.
Thanks, Joe

Just been shopping today in Derby and noticed a brand new concrete skatepark on the outskirts of Derby City Centre on the opposite side to the Derby Westfield Shopping Centre. Within walking distance of the Bus Station, just like Broadmarsh Humps were and still should be. Derby's new skatepark has been built by Freestyle Skateparks and looks super smooth with lots of nice lines. It was packed today, so get there early if you want to test it out.

Check out the pictures here on <a href="http://derbyskateparkproject.blogspot.com/" rel="nofollow">Derby Skatepark Project</a>

Why doesn't Nottingham City Council and Westfield Shopping Centres get their community act together and build a Skatepark in the close Nottingham City Centre. It could be built under the new Tram Bridge at the Broadmarsh Humps site, so it was covered by the existing Bridge.

A nice bit of Contemporary Art Form in concrete would be great for the City of Nottingham and just in the right location.

This is another major city that is slipping way behind on this culture, I am sure it would be a big attraction for like minded students of Nottingham's Universities.

The BMX and Skate Students call always enrol at Derby Uni now.

Nottingham City Council sort a skatepark now

this looks like a fantastic development for everyone in the area, i cant wait to go ride it soon as...
For those who doubt the positive influence this will have, go check it out sometime and see kids finally having the chance to have fun on a purpose built skatepark/pump track.
